How to choose good quality stainless steel handles?

2025 10/09

Choosing high-quality stainless steel handles depends on three key factors: material, craftsmanship, and details. Following these three steps will ensure you're never wrong:

1. Prioritize the right material and avoid selling inferior products as good ones.

Directly ask the manufacturer for the material model. Prefer 304 stainless steel (sufficient for daily household use) or 316 stainless steel (more acid- and alkali-resistant, suitable for kitchens and bathrooms). Avoid rust-prone 201 stainless steel. Simple identification: Use a magnet to gently attract 304/316 stainless steel. 304/316 stainless steel has weak or no magnetism, while 201 stainless steel has stronger magnetism. (This is for preliminary reference only; the most reliable method is to consult the material inspection report.)

2. Carefully examine the craftsmanship. Touch, inspect, and shake the handle to determine quality.

◦ Touch the surface: High-quality handles have a smooth, burr-free surface. Brushed handles have a uniform texture, while mirrored handles have a consistent reflection and are free of scratches or bubbles. Low-quality handles tend to have burrs and feel rough.

◦ Check the joints: Welds (such as where the handle connects to the base) should be smooth and seamless. Visible welds or gaps indicate they may become loose over time and harbor dirt.

◦ Shake stability: After installation (or gently shake a sample during purchase), the handle should not feel loose or wobbly. A sufficient base thickness (recommended ≥1.5mm) ensures optimal load-bearing performance.

3. Pay attention to accessories; details influence durability.
Don't overlook the screws used for connection. High-quality handles use stainless steel screws (rather than iron screws) to prevent them from rusting and seizing after long-term use, making them impossible to remove or replace.
